CSN on the Lawn

Posted on August 27th, 2010 by Richard. Categories: Downtown, Entertainment.

I debated heavily for days on whether or not to post this photo as it wasn’t up to my preferred standards, but decided to do so obviously. I went to the Crosby, Stills and Nash concert at the Lawn in White River State Park earlier this week. They don’t allow you to bring cameras inside and so all I had was my phone camera which is pretty good actually…but I shot this from

Watching the Draw

I met a client Downtown at the Circle briefly and was sitting afterwards in my car which was parked on Market Street directly facing the Monument in the very first spot with an unobstructed view. There was plenty of time left on the meter and as comfortable a place as any to finish a cup from Starbucks I had just gotten. It was entertaining watching the diverse activity that the Circle attracts.

Growing the Arts

I was downtown and took this photo of the Arts Garden recently, and I found myself thinking about it’s name…the actual words and the planned intention for its use, a place to cultivate and grow the arts. The Arts Garden adjoining Circle Centre is one of the more public and visual venues in Indianapolis where artists of all kinds display their works and perform. This shot was taken from the top of the Monument on the Circle zooming in west down Market Street. To me it looks like the Monument and the Capital Building are about the same height? I’ll have to research that factoid.

Circle Collage

Sent from my HTC EVO

For someone who likes to stay abreast of technology, I was overdue for an upgrade on mobile phones…so long in fact, that I had been operating without a contract with my mobile carrier for years. It had been over seven years since purchasing my last one, which at the time was one of the best Smartphones that ran Windows Mobile. I’ve patiently watched as iPhones broke the mold with touch screens and faster

Strawberry Park

Posted on June 10th, 2010 by Richard. Categories: Community Feature, Downtown.

The Strawberry Festival, an event orchestrated by Christ Church Cathedral on Monument Circle every year as a fundraiser for local, state and national charities, is one of those gatherings that seems to cut through all the ethno-political boundaries. One look at the mix of the crowd would tell you that. Nothing polarizing these people towards getting together other than to share a bowl of strawberry shortcake with whipped cream.
