Twin Moons

Posted on August 29th, 2010 by Richard. Categories: Community Feature, Photo Flash.

I was outdoors at Conner Prairie last night for some Music on the Prairie which luckily coincided with near perfect weather. Darkness had fallen, and their giant hot-air balloon rose silently, slowly above the tree tops. The balloon is invisibly tethered and somehow illuminated from within, so when the sky is dark it appears like an immense man-made full moon high overhead. The “real” moon was just rising to the east, and although a few days

I just liked this photo. The vibrant color of the blossoms contrasting with the green foliage. I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of bush this is though. I have no idea. Any guesses?

Summer Heat

Some of the days lately have been on the warm side. But I guess I’m one of those persons that doesn’t mind at all. The heat feels good actually. What you rather have…weather like this, or what we had in mid-January? I’ll take hot weather every time. Besides, it doesn’t do any good to complain. Recharging

If I’m close and have the time, which isn’t very often, I like to go by the IMA. If I went all the time I would be afraid it would loose it’s special quality, so I reserve it for when the timing or need feels perfect. It’s good for recharging. Even if it’s just for 10 or 15 minutes. It’s perfect. If it’s the time of year when really cold or if it’s rainy, there’s things to do inside

Uncovering the Details

One of the most fascinating thing to me about photography is that it can capture an image that one wouldn’t ordinarily focus on with their eyes, and then save it for them to gaze upon again and again if they wish. And if you add a zoom or telephoto lens, you are rewarded with images of things that you didn’t even know were  there. Simple things for instance like this stone carving adorning the peak of a gable of an old
