As an enthusiastic coffee drinker for many years, I was oblivious to an even larger world of tea consumption. Long before coffee, people developed the art of tea brewing and drinking. Lately I’ve been mounting a serious climb up that learning curve. One place I was introduced to recently has a special feel, the Teas Me Café  located a couple blocks east of Meridian on 22nd Street near downtown Indy. Both the proprietors and the space itself have a positive energy about them. There’s a cozy fireplace inside to sit next to when it’s cold out. When its warm weather, they have an attractive courtyard outside which would be a great place to sit on a nice day.
They have an amazing variety of all kinds of teas familiar and not so familiar and some treats to go with your tea if you want. I like green teas now in the morning. They seem to fit with my mood then. And I love Chamomile with a little honey in the evenings. Subtle and relaxing. But my absolute favorite so far is Champagne Oolong…very delicate flavor but provides a gentle energy boost. I find myself saving it for only special occasions now. If you overuse something you really like, then it becomes not so special.
